Air Duct Cleaning

Air duct cleaning refers to the cleaning of the different heating and cooling system components of forced air systems. If the ducts are not properly cleaned regularly, they may become the repositories of contaminated particles of dust, pollen and other kinds of debris. They may attract moisture which may result in microbiological growth such as molds that may release spores in the living rooms and cause allergic reactions and other harmful symptoms.

Experts from the Phoenix air duct cleaning systems inspect your cooling and heating systems especially the older systems that may not have been properly cleaned and maintained over a long period of time. They may have accumulated harmful dust, dirt and other contaminants, besides the moisture and mold growth. The vent cleaning process involves removing the vent covers, cleaning the unit, squirrel cage, fan, and all the accessible air handling components in the furnace removing and hand washing vent covers, vacuuming the individual ducts to remove the dust, ash and other debris, applying the antimicrobial to disinfect the exit/entry areas of each vent, cleaning the surrounding vent areas and reinstalling the vent covers.

Air duct Cleaning Equipment

There are various types of air duct cleaning equipments. Some equipments involve a brush system which runs a brush from the supply register through the length of the ductwork to brush off the dirt, dust, soot and ash from the walls of the ducts.

Another equipment system is truck mounted which connects a suction hose around the supply register and "sucks" the debris through the hose into the truck.
Yet another equipment system sends a steel ball attached to a coil (sometimes called a spinner) through the ductwork to knock off or loosen the particles and remove the fallen debris from the floor of the duct by suction.

The equipment consists of blowers, air and vacuum hoses, air compressors, hand held blowers, air trigger nozzles, hole- cutters and power air nozzles and so on.

The brush using equipment uses a 35 foot, 3/8” steel core cable in a 3⁄4” double walled cable housing. The 3/8” cable also allows the use of the compressed air feature which provides a fitting for a 125 psi compressor.

The vacuum hose attached to the brush picks up the dust and debris that is agitated by the brush and sends it to the vacuum collector. The machine is fitted with 1⁄2 HP DC motor unit with 0-850 RPM controller and dual torque settings. There is a 15 ft remote control with a belt clip.
