Air Conditioning: The Need Of The Times
Can you survive the chilling winter days and nights without your heater on? Can you imagine the hot summer months without your air-cooling system in the proper order? If your answer is no, you will definitely want to thank the person who invented the air conditioning system. There is no doubt that he or she made our lives easy and of course more comfortable.
Theoretically speaking, air conditioning is the method of regulating the condition of air for a more comfortable environment. Four physical properties of air are controlled in air conditioning. These are air temperature, relative humidity, air motion or circulation and the dust particles in air. A control of these four aspects is in air conditioning especially when talking about human comfort. What’s more, even more precise control over above-mentioned properties is needed for industrial air conditioning. Other properties such as odor and air pressure also need to be controlled in some cases.
In terms of the control of air temperature in air conditioning, it requires both heating and cooling processes. Air conditioning is used in lots of applications. For example, air-conditioned business establishments like stores, restaurants and theaters attract plenty of customers especially during the hot and humid summer season. On the other hand, modern transportation needs ample air conditioning to give people with much-needed comfort. Majority of modern buses, trains, aircraft and passenger cars are equipped with state of the art air conditioning systems that give comfort to the traveling public.
Big industrial plants need precise air temperature control to maintain their product quality. Apart from that, even industrial workers require a more favorable working environment and are often provided with industrial air conditioning units, so that they can perform more effectively and efficiently in their work. All in all, the development of the air conditioning system has brought much comfort to daily lives.
The most basic as well as cost efficient cooling instrument is the room air conditioner. This in general consists of indoor and outdoor parts. It is worth mentioning in this regard that an air filter, a fan and a cooling coil are the parts of the indoor portion. That is where the warm, humid air is drawn in with the assistance of filter into the fan and then blown over the cooling coil. The cooling coil then cools and humidifies the air before it is circulated into the room.
