Water Heaters

On-demand water heaters, also called point of use water heaters, deliver hot water instantly whenever it is required and the their special feature is that they are tankless. They circulate the water through a series of burners or electric coils heating it in the process of circulation.

The tankless water heaters cost more than the traditional water heaters which store the water in tanks, but they ultimately prove cheaper as they consume lesser energy than the tank-stored water heaters. The reason being that fuel or electricity is not needed to maintain the heat in the water tank all the day long. The electricity is turned on when you turn on the faucet and it is turned off when you turn off the faucet. In case of conventional water heaters, the electricity or gas remains on whether you are sleeping or have gone out of the house. Tankless water heaters not only save the energy bills but they release fewer gases in the environment too.

Another advantage of tankless on-demand water heaters is that the water keeps running and never runs out as in case of water stored in tanks.

The quantity and the temperature of water depend upon the area and the seasonal temperature.

Tnakless water heaters are designed to last for two decades or even more and are smaller than the tank units.

Water Heater Repair/Water Heater Maintenance
Most of the water heaters are fitted with two thermostats, one near the top the other near the bottom. The upper thermostat is connected with a high limit switch that trips if the water gets too hot disconnecting the electric supply. To reset the high limit switch, you need to press the red button. If it trips again, you need to check the power at the input terminals of the thermostat. If there is no power, check the circuit breakers or wiring to the water heater.

The water terminals of the heating tank should be checked periodically and washers changed if needed.

G E Water Heaters

GE manufactures water heaters fuelled by electricity, gas or liquid propane gas-LPG. GE water heaters are highly energy efficient and their running costs are pretty low. GE supplies large capacity tanks, point-of-use models, high altitude modes which are easily available from Home Depot Stores.
